Product modularization and configuration with Tacton in food machinery manufacturing

A manufacturer of confectionery machines and systems is pushing ahead with modularization and standardization.

Many of today's orders sometimes involve high ETO costs in the design phase. Standard machines have become ever more extensive and expensive over the last few decades and are therefore not always competitive. With the support of DLP Engineers, the first step is to examine the variance in the area of conflict between sales and design with regard to specific standardization approaches. In other words, to what extent is it possible to develop the ETO share (Engineer To Order) in the direction of CTO or Configure To Order without the external variance suffering as a result. Regardless of the pure product approach, the processes and IT systems are also examined in detail against the background of later automation - keyword CPQ or design automation.
