Situation:
With a wide range of large-scale equipment, individual machines and systems, the company supplies the key functional components of materials handling systems for opencast mining and power plants, metallurgy, the cement industry, the building materials industry, the chemical and fertilizer industry and port handling. The projects run for many years. This results in a large number of commercial and technical documents, mainly in the engineering but also in the commercial/logistical area. Working with file systems had reached its limits. Documents were filed, copied, sent and changed several times. Due to personal filing structures, it was almost impossible to find or reuse documents easily. Problems in the areas of performance, data consistency and data security also arose, which ultimately triggered the selection and introduction of an integrated DMS/PDM solution for the entire company.

Task:

  • Recording the DMS/PDM requirements as part of interviews with all relevant departments
  • Transferring the requirements into a specification sheet
  • Coordinating, supplementing and detailing the specifications
  • Support in the evaluation of offers and system selection
  • Final decision by the client
  • Project planning, project organization, external project management during implementation together with the PDM partners
  • Creation of conceptual elaborations, including in the areas of product structuring, classification and similar areas
  • Conceptual and technical/content-related support in the design of the bidirectional ERP link
  • Further needs-based support/additional work during the entire implementation project.
