CAD configuration of industrial valves with Tacton

Manufacturers of industrial valves have a high proportion of sales in the service and replacement sector. Valves, butterfly valves or gate valves have to be installed 1:1 in existing piping systems. For this reason, a lot of searches and work are still carried out in 2D CAD and old drawings are often used. On the other hand, the 3D CAD world is making inroads. This means that parallel operation and the gradual shift into the third dimension must be organized with all the associated challenges.

Situation:
The company previously used different 2D and 3D CAD systems. Quotation or order drawings were based on the approach "as before, but", i.e. they were based on completed orders or drawings and adapted for specific employees. Quotation drawings for sales often arrived too late and orders were often lost to the competition for this reason. There was virtually no time for innovative new developments
