Situation:

The company primarily produces individual items. It is often only when the order is placed that it is decided exactly what the machine will look like. And depending on which designer works on the order, several different but equivalent solutions are created.

Task:

  • Definition of product structures, processes and IT system architecture (roles / data model of the future CAD, PDM and ERP world)
  • Introduction of a suitable modular system. This simplifies the handling process. The magic word is "product configuration".
  • Development of a classification system as the basis for the comparison between the CAD and ERP worlds (keyword: parts library, duplicate check)
  • Close conceptual and content-related cooperation with the software and implementation partner throughout the entire project.

Result:

  • Coupling of the CAD/PDM with the ERP world
  • Automation effects in the area of 3D CAD model generation, drawing derivation, material master and parts list creation.
