Product lifecycle management (PLM) enables you to manage and control all the data and processes throughout your company which belong to a product’s complete lifecycle: the product creation process, design, sales, production, service, changes and, at the end of the product’s life, disassembly and recycling. That ensures that you work efficiently with the product at every point in that product’s lifetime. The foundation for this is the product data that are generated inside and outside your company within the scope of creating that product. PLM provides that data at the right time and place in the right sequence and with the necessary quality to guarantee optimum use of your resources.

PRODUCT DATA MANAGEMENT (PDM) AND HOW IT WORKS

Design and development: The first data describing the product are generated.

The master data files are managed and updated during the entire product lifecycle: A consistent PLM concept is possible.

PDM is at the heart of PLM PDM takes care of product data, especially CAD data. The management of master data and guaranteeing master data with a high quality are the prerequisites for ensuring that PLM functions well and everywhere. The important aspects are chiefly:

the parts master data in the PDM or the parts or materials master data in the ERP,
the design parts lists in the PDM, and
the order and production parts lists in the ERP.
Plus classification in order to find parts and documents, and
3D CAD models, drawings and all other documents describing the product.

PLM CONSULTING ALSO INCLUDES THE PREPARATION

We conceive, select and introduce a system and we prepare your company with regard to the content. We set up, for example, a consistent designation catalogue, including the classification required, and organise coherent parts list management. Compiling parts lists is therefore no longer dependent on a particular person. Instead, all parts lists have an identical structure. Together with you, we also reorganise release and change structures and release and change management.
