A major manufacturer of drives is optimising in-house processes through specific product and parts lists configuration.
A manufacturer of drive solutions was complaining about the lack of a link between CAD design and the ERP system ( ) plus the absence of configuration approaches, with all the associated difficulties. At the moment, sales staff search for similar products or completed orders via a classification in the ERP system. Design adapts in the 3D CAD system to suit the specific job, and the data is stored in a filing system. The parts lists department and production planning copy parts lists and work schedules and likewise adapt these accordingly. DLP has been asked to specify potential and demonstrate specific needs for action within the scope of an analysis and concept phase. It is necessary to define the future variant management, the CAD-ERP link (CA-LINK) and the targeted process optimisation aided by configuration. In a follow-up phase, practical implementation on the systems is the aim. The offer configurator being used is proALPHA.
